The exam date has been announced but still not able to sit tight and study. Don't worry, here in this post I share a simple and powerful study timetable maker. The name is "Study Time Planner". Without wasting time, let's get into the topic.
The interface of the study time planner
On opening for the first time, it asks for sign in with your Google account. If you're not sure about it then skip this step by clicking the option " Skip for now".
Dashboard
In the dashboard, you can able to check out today's and tomorrow's timetables. At first, you have to create your timetable then only it will be on that dashboard. Also, you can see the "Incomplete" tab beside "Today". It shows any tasks that you left incomplete.
Three dashes - Menu
On clicking the three dashes (top-left corner), a menu bar will become visible. In that menu, you have options for adding subjects, creating a timetable, etc.
Timetable - Option to create a timetable for every day.
Subject
- Add the subjects you study or subjects you have.
Summary - A
detailed information of your timetable.
Tasks - Individual works
or notes added to each subject. For example, If the subject is math then in
math what topic you are wishing to study today.
Review - Its looks
like a bar chart telling about how your study according to the timetable.
That's
all about the app's interface. Now the how to do part.
How to create a timetable?
First, you have to add the subjects then only you can able to create a timetable. For adding subjects, go to the " Subjects" section, click the "Add" button at the bottom right. Now input the subject name and choose a color for that. Selecting different colors for different subjects may help you in finding out them. After that, click "Save". You can see the subject you have added at the top. Do the same for all the subjects. After successfully adding the subjects, you can create a timetable.
For creating a timetable, go to the " Timetable" section. Note that you have to add a timetable for each day individually. Make sure to select the day (top bar) first then starting creating. There you will see an "Add" option at the bottom. On clicking it, you will see a selection tab.
Now, select the subject (subjects added are shown). Fix a time (starting) and duration of the study for that subject. For example, English is the subject, I like to start studying at 9'o clock and for about 40 minutes. Please take a minimum of 15 minutes to break after being done with a subject.
Do the same steps and add the subjects you want to study on that day of every week. And don't forget to add a timetable for other days you want to study.
Now, you can see the timetable and its piechart on the dashboard.
How to start studying?
The app will notify you at the time. Then go to the dashboard and select the subject. On that screen, there will be a "Play" button. Click that button and your time starts. If some work came in between or you can't able to finish a task then you can use the "Pause" and "Stop" options.
Pause - Just stops the time running. You can start it when you are ready.
Stop - It's like stopping the study. But on clicking it, a tab will pop up. In that tab, a question and three answers are shown. Select the genuine answer for better studying.
How to add Tasks and Topics?
First, understand tasks and topics. Task - A work that has to be done. For example, solving the previous year's questions. Topics - Units and Chapter names. For example, In math what do you want to study today algebra or trigonometry.
For adding tasks and topics for a subject, go to the "Tasks" tab on the right side menu. Separate sections are provided for adding tasks and topics. At the bottom, there will be an adding button. Click that button to add the tasks or topics.
In the tasks tab, fill the task description with the work/task you want to complete. If you want to connect the task to a subject then check "Attach to the subject" and select the subject.
While in the topics tab, the subjects are given in a list. You have to select a subject and add topics (which you want to study) to it.
Cons
- We have to create the timetable for each day separately.
- ADs - Not so annoying. ADs running only on studying (timer running) and on finishing a subject, a full-screen AD runs.
